Welcome to Arts in Education! In 2001, the California Board of Training set requirements at every grade stage for what students should know and be capable to do in music, visible arts, theater, and dance, however a statewide research in 2006, by SRI Worldwide , found that 89 p.c of Okay-12 faculties failed to offer a standards-based course of study in all four disciplines.

Such schooling not only strengthens cognitive development and the acquisition of life skills – modern and creative thinking, critical reflection, communicational and inter-personal abilities, and many others – but additionally enhances social adaptability and cultural awareness for people, enabling them to build private and collective identities in addition to tolerance and acceptance, appreciation of others.
